About the network
Nursing research has grown rapidly in Quebec in the past decade. Three research groups have contributed to this growth by developing knowledge in three domains: clinical intervention, the organization of nursing services and nursing education.

Origins of the network

In 2012, these three groups came together to create a research network. While the Quebec Interuniversity Nursing Intervention Research Group (GRIISIQ) focused on the domain of clinical intervention research and the effects on health, the Centre for Training and Expertise in Nursing Administration Research (FERASI) focused on  the organization of nursing services, and the Centre of Innovation in Nursing Education (CIFI) focused on the field of nursing education.

The establishment of the RRISIQ offers the possibility of combining the expertise of these different groups of researchers to develop knowledge for nursing practice. Since the quality of nursing care is dependent on clinical intervention, the organization of services in nursing and the quality of nursing education, it is essential to bring together researchers from these three areas of expertise to advance the field. Moreover, many health problems are best addressed by interventions that target more than one focus, such as the organization of nursing services and nursing education. The RRISIQ brings together researchers from faculties and schools of nursing from seven different Quebec universities (Université de Montréal, McGill University, Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Université du Québec en Outaouais and Université du Québec à Chicoutimi), as well as clinicians and policy makers. National and international collaborators are also invited to participate as members of the network.
