Network Membership
RRISIQ boasts several researcher members (regular, associate) from eight different academic institutions (Faculté des sciences infirmières de l’Université de Montréal, École des sciences infirmières Ingram de l’Université McGill, École des sciences infirmières de l’Université de Sherbrooke, Faculté des sciences infirmières de l’Université Laval, Département des sciences infirmière de l'Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, Département des sciences infirmière de l'Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Département des sciences infirmière de l'Université du Québec en Outaouais, Département des sciences infirmière de l'Université du Québec à Rimouski)

Student members, many of whom are RRISIQ fellows, form an integral part of the Group and ensure its future. Outside these academic arenas, the network is also able to rely on clinicians and clinical decision makers, also considered within the associate members.

Membership application

Anyone wishing to be a member of the network must submit a written request to management with the following documents

  • Letter of Intent
  • Common Curriculum Vitae (Canadian Common CV).

All  membership applications are evaluated by the network's management and strategicleaders on the basis of their eligibility and potential contribution to the network.

The status of each member is reviewed every two (2) years and the absence of any participation in scientific activities or contribution to the network entails a change of status or terminates membership.

All members must acknowledge their membership in the network and the financial contributions, if any.

Member category


Regular Member

  • Holds full-time position by an institution recognized by the FRQ to manage funding;
  • Affiliated to a Quebec university allowing him to independently supervise graduate students and head research projects;
  • Holds a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree recognized by a Quebec university;
  • Holds a professional degree and must have received research training of a minimum duration of two (2) years full-time;
  • It may be an independent clinical researcher who, in addition to the definition of independent researcher, must have a basic academic background and hold a diploma in the discipline that allows him to practice his profession;
  • Must have a valid practice permit allowing them to practice their profession
The regular member's privileges are:
  • The right to vote at the Members Assembly
  • Privileged access to network activities and resources
  • The opportunity to be named as a group or platform leader
  • Access to funding to grants as principal investigator
  • The ability to apply administrative functions within the network, such as serving on the Executive Committee.
The regular member is responsible for reporting annually on scientific productivity by disseminating their publications, conferences, funding obtained from organizations recognized by the FRQS and their contribution to the training of students or postdoctoral trainees. The submission of the curriculum vitae (Canadian Common CV) at the request of management will prove any achievements. The regular member must participate in the preparation of network renewal applications and recognize the contribution of the network in its dissemination activities.

Associate Member

The status of associate member is recognized to any person, representing an organization or not, who collaborates in the development or the realization of the activities of the network. It may be a researcher, a clinician, a manager or a research professional. A knowledge user who is interested in network activities may also be eligible for this membership category.

Student member

A student member is a person enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate training program in a Québec university institution or a person who meets the status of postdoctoral research intern, as described in the FRQ General Rules, and who performs his training at a Quebec university. To be eligible for membership, the student must, in addition to meeting one of the requirements above, be engaged in research activities and be directed or supervised by a regular member of the network. The student member may request to be unsubscribed at any time.
