Abstract

The world of research has become significantly more competitive and demanding. Despite all the requirements brought on by these changes, we are still attracted to research. As a student or teacher who is starting a research career, you will need to plan and work on a number of activities that are essential to its proper advancement. Presented in all modesty, the objectives of this presentation are to discuss the elements to consider for establishing a career in research, to present some lessons learned "along the way" and to help you maximize your potential.
