Francine Ducharme, professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Montreal, has just obtained the 2015 recognition award from the Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l'espace francophone (SIDIIEF)

Holder Desjardins Chair in Nursing Care for Seniors and their family since its inception in 2000, Francine Ducharme has contributed greatly to the advancement of knowledge concerning the caregivers of the elderly in loss of autonomy.

His commitment to change the cause of carers has won several awards, the identifier as lead Head in this area of ​​research.

The first MadameDucharme's work has highlighted the precariousness's health of women caregivers for elderly with Alzheimer's disease.

Her achievements are distinguished by their scientific quality and their practical bearing on the quality of life of caregivers as a vulnerable group within the health system.

Francine Ducharme has helped to change the organization of home care services and policies to support caregivers. Her work sensitize society to the reality of caregivers, particularly that of women caregivers.

This award will be presented at the 6th World Congress of nurses and nursing francophones to be held from May 31 to June 5, 2015 in Montreal.
